Women's Bowling competes in Baker Challenge

The Aurora University women's bowling team returned to action at the Roto Grip Eagles Baker Challenge on Saturday, January 9 and Sunday, January 10, 2016. The Spartans finished the weekend going 3-7 overall.

On Saturday, January 9, the AU women finished with a 3-3 record. The Spartans lost their first set against Elmhurst College (684-584), defeated Grand View College (647-635) in the second set before falling in sets three and four to Viterbo Univeristy (653-579) and Calumet College of St. Joseph JV (634-575). AU would then respond well in the final two sets to take down Grand View JV (570-549) and Robert Morris University Lake County (491-407).

Day two of the Roto Grip Eagles Challenge on Sunday brought Baker matches with the Spartans having an 0-4 record. AU opened play with a 708-520 loss to Calumet College of St. Joseph before falling to University of St. Francis (741-588), Purdue University (721-666) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (665-553).

The Spartan women are now 11-22 overall on the season. Next action for the Spartan women's bowling team comes at the Kegel/Illinois State BPA Midwest Collegiate Classic on Saturday, January 16 and Sunday, January 17 in Addison, Illinois at Stardust Bowl.
