Women's Bowling

Bowlers take on Crusader Classic

On Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 the Aurora University women's bowling team competed at the Clarke Crusader Open in Dubuque, Iowa. The Spartans finished the weekend 3-7 and in sixth place overall.
 

Day one of the Crusader Open, the Spartans bowled in team games which resulted in a 2-4 record. The AU women had two losses to Clarke University (741-867 and 783-873) and two additional deficits against Grand View University (906-955 and 744-807). The Spartans had two wins against Newman University (858-784 and 863-833) to wrap up the day. Jasmine Hampton had the high game for the Spartans at a 264, followed by Ashley Tamraz (219), Taylor Ford (206) and Skyla Strum (204). The Spartans high series was held by Ashley Tamraz with a 981 followed closely by Taylor Ford at 957.
 

Sunday, February 7, and day two of the Crusader Open consisted of four Baker matches for the Spartans. With two losses to Clarke University (663-665 and 693-731), a loss to Newman University (609-648) and a win to Grand View University (632-627) the AU women completed the day 1-3, grabbing the 6th place finish.
 

The Spartan women are now 21-42 overall on the season. Next action for the AU women's bowling team comes at the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic on Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21 in Indianapolis, Indiana at Western Bowl.
