The Aurora University Spartan baseball team celebrated senior day and then swept an important NACC doubleheader from Edgewood College on Sunday afternoon.

Elias McMahon threw a complete game shutout, struck out three and scattered four hits.
Ryan Rybakowski was one for three with one run scored.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game was scoreless as both teams offense was kept at bay by the starting pitchers and the cool windy weather.
- In the sixth, AU's Ryan Rybakowski reached on an error with one out. After a Jeff Mayes singled, a would be double play ball off the bat of Jeff Woods did not materialize and Rybakowski scored.
- Elias McMahon made the 1-0 lead hold up and AU went on to win.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS
Jeff Woods was two for five with three runs batted in.
Dillon Popovich was two for three with one run scored.
Cole Davis was two for four with one run scored and one run batted in.

Jacob Stockman pitched 5-2/3 innings for the win. He allowed three runs, 10 hits and struck out three.
Kyle Manske earned the save, pitching 3-1/3 innings, allowing three hits and struck out one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored eight runs in the first inning courtesy of six walks, one hit by pitch and three hits. The Edgewood starting pitcher went only 1/3 of an inning as AU batted around.
- Edgewood scored a run in the third and two in the sixth to cut into the AU lead.
- Kyle Manske came in relief of Jacob Stockman in the sixth and retired the first batter he faced.
- AU added a pair of runs in the eighth with a pair of singles from Nick Turner and Jeff Woods with the Woods single scoring Cale Sparks who reached on a fielders choice.
- Edgewood added two runs in the ninth but AU held on for the 10-5 victory.
