The Aurora University softball team lost a heart breaker in the 2016 NCAA Division III Lake Forest Regional to the University of WIsconsin - Whitewater, seeing the Warhawks score three times in the final inning.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Whitewater scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning.
• The Spartans answered in their half of the fourth to score twice. Stephanie Starr reached on an error and scored one out later on a single from Elaine Walker to tie the game. Back to back errors loaded the bases for AU and Walker would score on a sacrifice flyout by Logan Cahill. AU would leave the bases loaded in the inning.
• AU left a pair on in each the fifth and sixth but were unable to expand on their 2-1 lead.
• In the seventh, Whitewater facing elimination scored three runs courtesy of two walks, one error and two hits with the bases loaded.
