Comments from Coach Nicole Farr -
Today was a great day for the Spartan men who earned their third-straight NACC championship. The NACC meet is always a fight no matter who the "favorites" are, and the cold and windy conditions added to that challenge. I'm happy for our four guys who earned All-NACC honors for the first time in cross country. Our top three sophomores, David Galvan, Carl Way and Brandon Estrada, were really exciting to watch compete today. They showed a lot of poise and maturity for their first big championship race in cross country, where the team expectations are high. Galvan had a dominant runner-up finish, which has to be his best race so far at AU. Veteran Anthony Barrios had a phenomenal day with his 4th place finish. His experience in high-pressure races and determination to contribute to a team championship was very evident. Matt Taves did his job with staying ahead of all other team's fifth runners, and Adrian Vargas led the chase pack that moved up well throughout the race to displace other teams. No matter where everyone placed individually, each team member contributed to this victory today.

UP NEXT:
Next action for the Spartan men's cross country team comes on Thursday, November 2 when they compete in the North Central College Red-White Invite. Meet time is set for 4:00 p.m. at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Illinois.
