The Aurora University women's bowling team competed in their fourth tournament of the season at the Leatherneck Classic in Moline, Illinois on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12. The Spartan's posted a 4-6 overall record.
On Saturday, November 11, Spartans opened the tournament with a 2-4 record. AU started off with a loss against Newman University (783-939). The Spartans then went on to win the next two matches against North Central College (813-589) and University of Iowa (859-780). For the third match of the day, AU lost a close match against Viterbo University (856-865). The Spartans finished the day with two loses against Clarke University (816-874) and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (701-809).
On Sunday, November 12, the schedule consisted of 4 Baker Games that resulted in a recorded of 2-2 for the Spartans. AU opened play with a match against Columbia College winning 624-607. The Spartans lost the second match of the day to St. Ambrose University (596-655). AU won the third match of the day against University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse (657-604). The Spartans finished the tournament with a loss against the St. Ambrose University JV team (656-807).
Alyssa Lang had the top average of 177.5 for the Spartans. Jenna Mendez averaged a 170.7 and Hannah Mackie followed close behind averaging a 170.4.
Next action for the Spartan women's bowling team is a two-day tournament starting on Saturday, November 25 at the Collegiate Team Match Play in Fairview Heights, Illinois (St. Clair Bowl).
