The Aurora University women's bowling team competed in their third tournament of the season at the Crusader Challenge in Lynwood, Illinois on Saturday, November 4, and Sunday November 5. The Spartans posted a 3-7 overall record.
On Saturday, November 5, Spartans opened the tournament with a 1-4 record. AU started off with a loss against Elmhurst College (645-774). The Spartans then went on to lose three close matches against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (819-865), Augustana College (767-779) and Valparaiso University (812-895). AU finished the day with a win against North Central College (792-683).
On Sunday, November 5, the schedule consisted of 5-person team game that resulted in a record of 2-3 for the Spartans. AU opened play with a match against University of Wisconsin-Whitewater losing 758-810. The Spartans then went and lost the next two matches against Elmhurst College (754-840) and Valparaiso University (732-880). AU won the last two matches of the day against North Central College (815-694) and Augustana College (728-655).
Alyssa Lang had the top average of 174.8 for the Spartans and Jenna Mendez followed closely behind was with a 162.2 average.
Next action for the Spartan women's bowling team is a two-day tournament starting on Saturday, November 11 at the Leatherneck Classic in Moline, Illinois (Highland Park Bowl).
