For the second time in as many days the Aurora University softball team took to the road for a non-conference doubleheader. The Spartans split the doubleheader at Saint Mary's College in Indiana, winning game one 4-3 before losing game two 7-6.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- The Spartans fell behind in the second inning 2-0 as Saint Mary's took advantage of two walks and a hit by pitch.
- The second time through the order did the trick for the Spartans as they put up a four spot in the fourth. The big hit of the inning came from
Josie Bachtell with a two run double.
- AU maintained a 4-2 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh.
- The Spartans did not make the seventh and win easy on themselves as the first two opposing hitters reached and with two outs, a passed ball allowed a run that put the winning run on second. AU pitcher
Cat Yanis was able to get the final out and secure the 4-3 win.
SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- AU jumped out to the fast lead in the first inning with a lead-off single from
Mandey Shrader and she would score on a long home run from
Laura Dierking for the 2-0 Spartan advantage.
- The Spartans manufactured a run in the second and took advantage of a Saint Mary's error to lead 3-0.
- The game remained 3-0 until the fourth when Saint Mary's got three singles and a run with two outs.
- AU added two more runs in the fifth with a Shrader single and she scored on a
Elaine Walker triple with Walker scoring one batter later for a 5-1 lead.
- Saint Mary's added one run in the bottom of the inning making the score 5-2.
- The Spartans answered with an unearned run in the top of the sixth as
Lauren O'Daniell scored while reaching on a walk.
- Things unraveled for AU and pitcher
Britni Wilson in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs and one on, Saint Mary's three straight singles followed by a pair of walks to pull within one at 6-5 and the bases were loaded. A two run single followed giving the home team a 7-6 lead.

Laura Dierking led off the seventh with a single but would be stranded as the Spartans lost 7-6.
