The Aurora University softball team traveled to Alverno College and the home of the NACC Tournament for the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference opening doubleheader. AU swept Alverno winning both games in five innings, 9-1 and 13-3.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- The Spartans fell behind 1-0 in the second inning.
- AU answered right away in the third. A one out walk to Mandey Shrader was followed by a run scoring double from Elaine Walker and a run scoring single from Steph Starr and the Spartans led 2-1.
- The Spartans broke the game wide open in the top of the fifth. A lead-off double from Sam Schloegl got it all started. Seven runs later with four more hits including a two-run double from Abbey Rosenow, AU led 9-1.
- Spartan Britni Wilson allowed a single in the bottom of the inning but got three quick outs to secure the mercy rule victory.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- AU started game two where they finished game one, hitting and hitting a lot. The Spartans scored eight runs on seven hits including a home run and double from Elaine Walker, Walker drove in four runs in the inning.
- The Spartans added two more runs on four hits in the second inning and led 10-0.
- Alverno was able to score three runs on AU starter Kaylee Hayton in the bottom of the second and Spartan Head Coach Mike McKenzie turned to pitcher Cat Yanis to get out of the jam.
- Three AU doubles from Walker, Steph Starr and Josie Bachtell scored Walker and Starr and AU once again led 12-3.
- Walker doubled for the third time in the game in the fourth, driving in Mandey Shrader with AU's 13th run.
- Alverno would not plate any runs on Yanis who earned her fourth win of the season.
