Spartan men have strong showing at Phoenix Open

The Aurora University men's track team had their first indoor meet of 2018 by opening up at the Phoenix Invitational at University of Chicago. Picking up where they left off in December, the Spartan men had an array of strong performances setting the bar for the season. The Spartan Men placed second overall in the meet with 143 points only behind University of Chicago who scored 259 points.

Brandon Davis and Sean Ganey finished first in the pole vault, Brandon Pichen had an excellent day in the weight throw placing first, Steve Ruffin won the 60 meter dash and was second in the 200 and Peter Rudelich and Nick Majka finished first in the high jump.

Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team comes on Saturday, January 20 when they travel to Olivet Nazarene University for the NCAA vs. NAIA Challenge. Meet time is set for 10:00 a.m. in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
