The Aurora University men's basketball team never trailed in a 80-72 victory of Rockford University on Saturday afternoon. The contest saw all sorts of ebb and flow though with the Spartans leading by as many 24 early in the game and by just one with minutes to go in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU dominated early, opening up the game 10-0 and led 22-2 with 13:54 on the game clock.
- The Spartans worked the lead up to 24 twice at 32-8 and 35-11. The 35-11 lead came with 11:24 to go in the first-half.
- Rockford worked their way back into the game though, turning around their ice cold shooting in the final half of the first-half.
- A 26-10 run for the Regents pulled the AU lead to single digits with 1:32 to play.
- The Spartans took a 46-37 lead into half.
- Rockford had a 10-2 run to start the second-half and AU led by just one, 48-47.
- The Spartans answered with a 14-3 run though and led 62-50 with 14:10 to play.
- Later in the half, AU led again by just one, 70-69, with 5:38 to play.
- AU closed out the game on an 8-1 run though and brought home a win, 80-72.

- Marcus Myers had a game-high 22 points with seven rebounds and four assists.
- Max Vickers had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
