Softball goes 2-0 on day one of spring trip

The 2018 spring trip to central Florida and the Osceola Sports Complex in Kissimmee is underway for the Aurora University softball team and AU is 2-0 after a sweep of the doubleheader on the opening day.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE vs. Montclair State University
- AU scored runs in each of the first four innings with a two run home run from Josie Bachtell in the fourth being the big blow.
- An insurance run in the top of the seventh inning proved to be the game winning run as AU won 6-5..
- Stacey Bellack went three for four with a double and one run batted in.
- Josie Bachtell went 2-4 with a home run, two runs batted in and one run scored.
- Elaine Walker went 2-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.
- Britni Wilson threw the complete game, scattering 10 hits, five runs and struck out two.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO vs. Illinois College
- The Spartans scored two runs in the first courtesy of an Illinois College error.
- AU added two runs in the second, two more in the fourth and three in the sixth to end the game with the mercy rule.
- Elaine Walker was four for four with a home run, two doubles, four runs scored and four runs batted in.
- Josie Bachtell was one for two with to runs batted in and one run scored.
- Hannah Tomasko earned her first collegiate win, pitching six innings, allowing four hits, one run and struck out five.
