The Aurora University Spartan softball team wrapped up the 2018 spring trip on Thursday with a split, defeating Thiel College 14-6 and fell to Muskingum University 7-2.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE vs. Thiel College
- AU got a lead off home run from Elaine Walker to start the game and led 1-0.
- Six AU hits including a pair of doubles scored five runs in the third and AU now led 6-0 for starting pitcher Britni Wilson.
- After Thiel scored a run in the bottom of the third, AU got home runs from Josie Bachtell (solo) and Sam Owens (two run homer) to go up 9-1.
- A lead off walk and hit by pitch for Thiel in the fourth was followed by three hits and AU now only led 9-5 going to the fifth.
- The Spartans added a run in the sixth after a lead off double from Walker and she later scored.
- Thiel added a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, making it 10-6 AU.
- The seventh started with four straight hits, three singles and a three run home run from Bachtell and AU led 14-6, the final score.
- Sam Owens was four for four with a home run, three runs batted in and one run scored.
- Elaine Walker was three for five with a home run, double, three runs scored and two runs batted in.
- Josie Bachtell was three for five with two home runs, a double, four runs batted in and three runs scored.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO vs. Muskingum University
- A lead off home run for the second straight game by Elaine Walker gave AU a 1-0 lead in the first inning,
- AU went up 2-0 with a run in the second as Anni Wilson scored on a double from Josie Bachtell.
- Walks hurt the Spartans in the third inning as Muskingum drew three two out walks and got a grand slam to take a 5-2 lead. An error in the inning also fueled the five unearned runs.
- A pair of errors in the sixth allowed Muskingum to add on two more unearned runs as AU went on to fall 7-2
- Anni Wilson was two for three with one run scored.
- Elaine Walker was one for four with a home run.
- Josie Bachtell was one for four with a double and one run batted in.
