The Aurora University Spartan softball team got back to winning ways with a sweep of Rockford University, winning game one 11-0 in five innings and game two 7-0.

GAME ONE - HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored early and often in the four innings they hit. In the first, AU took advantage of three Regent errors to score four runs.
- A lead off double in the second from
Elaine Walker got the Spartans rolling and two runs later, AU led 6-0.
- AU pitcher
Hannah Tomasko made quick work of Rockford, striking out seven over the first four innings.
- In the third, Walker hit an inside the park home run on a ball down the right field line that took a hop into the corner as Walker scampered around the bases.
- AU added four runs in the fourth as
Sam Owens tripled and
Ashley Pittman doubled as part of six Spartan hits.
- In the fifth, Tomasko allowed the first hit against her, tossing 4-1/3 no-hit innings. She held on for the shutout as she struck out eight.
GAME TWO - HOT IT HAPPENED
- AU got on the board in the second inning, slugging out five hits, scoring two runs and leaving the bases loaded.
- The Spartans added a run in the fourth following a lead off triple by
Anni Wilson and she later scored on a ground out.
- As pitcher
Britni Wilson battled to keep Rockford scoreless, AU looked to end the game early in the fifth.
- The Spartans scored four times with six hits but a line out double play with the game ending run on second extended the game.
- Wilson got out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth which preserved the shutout and she went on to complete it in the seventh.
