The Aurora University baseball team will enter the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament for the ninth time in 12 seasons. The Spartans finished the 2018 regular season with a 26-12 overall record and 13-7 in the NACC. AU fell into a tie for the second best record in the NACC, but because of tie breakers will be the fourth seed and take on fifth seeded Benedictine University on Thursday, May 10 at 1:00 p.m.

All-Time NACC Championship History –

• - AU has won the three tournament championships since joining the NACC, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
• - Concordia Chicago has won six of 11 NACC Tournament Championships, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017
• - Rockford won two NACC Tournament titles in 2007 and 2008.
• - AU is 18-11 (.621) in the NACC tournament

About the Spartans –

• - Freshman Jett Wedekind has a batting average of .376 with 12 doubles, one home run, 33 runs scored on 53 hits and 25 runs batted in.
• - Junior Bryce DeSpain is hitting .372 with seven doubles, two home runs, 23 runs scored on 35 hits and 16 runs batted in.
• - Sophomore AJ Gill has a .342 batting average with six doubles, one home run, 23 runs scored on 40 hits and 23 runs batted in.
• - Junior Davis Purviance is hitting .340 with 10 doubles, two home runs, 25 runs scored on 50 hits and 27 runs batted in.
• - Senior pitcher Jacob Stockman has a record of 8-2 with an era of 1.59, throwing 68.0 innings while striking out 65 batters in 11 appearances on the bump for the Spartans.
• - Junior pitcher Chris Roycroft has a 3-0 record recording six saves in 44.0 innings pitched while striking out 56 batters in 13 appearances with an era of 2.45.
• - Junior pitcher Will King has a team low 1.28 era with a record of 5-0 in 42.1 innings of work, he has appeared in nine games striking out 25

About NACC Opponents –

• - Concordia University Chicago comes in as the top seed with a record of 29-10 overall and 15-5 in the NACC.  The Cougars are ranked #10 in the nation by D3baseball.com and are #1 in the Midwest regional rankings.
• - Marian University comes into the NACC Tournament as the second seed after a two-year hiatus with an overall record of 18-20 and 13-7 in conference play.  The Sabers are 0-6 in their three tournament appearances. 
• - Milwaukee School of Engineering comes into the post season as the three seed with an overall record of 23-17 going 13-7 in NACC play.  This is the third appearance for the Raiders in the NACC Tournament where they have a 6-4 record finishing runner-up in 2016.
• - Benedictine University comes in as the fifth seed with an overall record of 23-16 going 12-8 in conference action.  This is the Eagles 10^th appearance in 12 NACC seasons they have a record of 10-18 in the conference tournament. 
• - Concordia University Wisconsin comes in as the sixth seed with a 22-16 overall record and 11-9 in the NACC.  The Falcons have made seven precious appearances in the conference tournament going 8-14 in those games finishing runner-up in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
