Women's golf has strong showing at highly competitive Shootout on the Border

The Aurora University women's golf team wrapped up a highly competitive season opening invitational that will prepare the Spartans for the upcoming season as they took part in the Carthage College Shootout on the Border. AU played very well, finishing sixth out of 17 teams with a pair of freshmen finishing in the top five.

FINAL SCORE: Aurora University finished 6th out 17 teams with a two round score of 683.

- Kallie Sakamoto finished tied for second with a two day total of 157 (80/77).
- Hannah Schulz finished tied for fifth with a two day total of 161 (82/79).
- Becca Hasemann finished tied for 28th with a two day total of 172 (89/83).
- Sarah Isaacs finished tied for 35th with a two day total of 177 (89/88).
- Lauren Anderson finished tied for 46th with a two day total of 184 (89/95).
- Madison Erickson finished tied for 51st with a two day total of 186 (98/88).
- Ashley Guilinger finished tied for 61st with a two day total of 193 (99/94).

Next action for the Spartan women's golf team comes on Sunday, September 9 when they compete in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship preview tournament. The meet will take place at Meadowbrook Golf in Racine, Wisconsin.
