The Aurora University women's hockey team defeated Lake Forest College 4-1 on Saturday afternoon to remain a perfect 8-0 overall on the season and 4-0 in the NCHA.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans got on the board first when
Marisa Trevino scored at 9:22 of the first period. Max Cooke and
Olivia Matson assisted.
- 1:31 later, the AU lead grew to 2-0 when
Olivia Monzel scored an unassisted tally.
- With less than a minute to play in the opening period and on the power play, Lake Forest scored.
- The teams went to intermission with AU leading 2-1.
- The AU defense and goalie
Chiara Pfosi were tested in the second stanza with Pfosi making 12 saves.
- On the power play with four minutes left in the middle period the Spartans struck again. Trevino got her second of the day with assists from
Lexie Martinez and Matson.
- AU took the two goal lead into the second intermission.
- The Spartans added a late goal in the third when
Nicole McKernan hammered home a rebound.
- Pfosi made the lead stand up as she made 20 third period saves for her eighth win of the season.
