The Aurora University women's track and field team will travel to Tarble Athletic and Recreation in Kenosha, Wisconsin on the campus of Carthage College on Saturday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m. for the 2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships. The Spartan women will compete to bring home the NACC crown for the seventh consecutive year.
The Match-up –
- Aurora University will take on a field of 10 other NACC track and field teams from Benedictine University, Concordia University Chicago, Concordia University Wisconsin, Edgewood College, Illinois Institute of Technology, Lakeland University, Marian University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Rockford University and Wisconsin Lutheran College.
All-Time NACC Championships history –
- - AU has won seven of the 11 NACC women's indoor track and field championships, which includes each of the last six years. 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
- - Concordia Wisconsin and Concordia Chicago have won the NACC women's championship the rest of the five of 10 years.
- - Concordia Wisconsin has won three crowns, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
- - Concordia Chicago has won twice, 2010 and 2012.
About the Spartans –
- - AU is the six-time defending NACC indoor champions.
- - Jackie Schane will look to build off her top performance in last years meet in which she was named the NACC Indoor Track Athlete of the Meet. Schane scored 28 points in the meet, winning the mile and 3,000 meter run and finishing second in the 5,000 meter.
- - Taryn Davis finished third in the 55 meter hurdles a season ago and looks to improve to a NACC Champion.
- - Destinee Haugabook finished second in the long jump a season ago and looks to improve to a NACC Champion.
- - Jocelyn Ocon enters the meet as the top performer in the weight throw
- - Katie Gonterman enters the meet as the top performer in the shot put.
- - Tikia Harris enters the meet as the top performer in the high jump.
- - Porsche Delatte enters the meet as the top performer and just ahead of teammate Taryn Davis in the 60 meter hurdle. The NACC meet will run a 55 meter hurdle race.
