The Aurora University softball team swept a second consecutive NACC doubleheader at Bedrosian Stadium as AU found the offensive produce in both games, defeating Dominican University 8-0 and 10-2 with both games ending in five innings. Game one saw Spartan pitcher
Stephanie Renner hurl a two-hit shutout.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- AU wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the first inning after
Stephanie Renner tossed a perfect top of the first.

Elaine Walker walked and scored on a
Nina Tholl double.
Josie Lytton singled up the middle later in the inning for a second AU run and then
Ashley Pittman doubled to score Lytton and pinch runner
Jessika McCleskey for a 4-0 AU lead.
- The lead remained 4-0 Spartans until the fourth when hit a two-run home run to push the lead to 6-0.
- The Spartans put the game away in the bottom of the fifth with Lytton and
Mckenzie Flores reaching on back to back singles. With one out, they came in to score on a
Brianna Lewis single and AU won 8-0.

Stephanie Renner allowed just two Star runners to reach, both singles for the victory in the circle.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- AU fell behind in game two 1-0 in the first, courtesy of two defensive miscues.
- The Spartans took the lead in the second with Lytton and Flores both reaching on walks to start the inning. They both would score on a Lewis single, the second time on the day the trio would combine to plate runs.
- A run was added by the Spartans in the third inning with Lytton hitting a sac fly to score Jessica Devries who was running for
Nina Tholl.
- In the fourth, the Spartans exploded for seven runs on six hits and were aided by three walks. The big hit of the inning was a two-run single from
Josie Bachtell.
- Dominican added a run in the fifth but AU and
Hannah Tomasko were victorious by a 10-2 final score in five innings.
