The Aurora University baseball team got a strong performance from freshman
Nick Malmberg and two scoreless innings from
Michael Fidler in a 4-1 non-conference win over Wheaton College.

Nick Malmberg allowed just one hit over the first five innings as the game was scoreless.
- In the sixth the Spartan offense broke through. Four singles produced a pair of runs with
Dylan White and
Colin Rivard drove in
Jeff Mayes and
AJ Gill.
- AU added two more runs in the seventh as
Austin Wiskow led off with a triple. With two outs, Mayes and Gill walked to load the bases for
Jett Wedekind. Wedekind then delivered a double to center and AU led 4-0.
- Wheaton scratched across a run in the bottom of the seventh off Malmberg but the freshman got out of the potential big inning with a 4-1 lead.
- The Spartans turned to
Michael Fidler in the eighth and he tossed a clean eighth and ninth innings for the save.
