The first day of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships saw Aurora University men's track and field athlete, senior Ryan Njegovan, compete in the discus.

Njegovan took on the field of 20 in the discus event and advanced to the finals, top nine, with a 49.41 meter toss.

He entered the finals in sixth place and while bettering his qualifying throw on his fifth throw of 49.56 meters, he would maintain a seventh place finish to earn All-American honors. The 2019 Outdoor All-American honor is his third in the outdoor NCAA meet, second in the discus event and fifth All-American recognition in his time at AU.

Next action for Njegovan will be on Friday, May 24 in the shot put event at the 2019 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championship. The shot put event is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
