The Aurora University ACHA Division 2 hockey team lost in the NCHL conference semifinals in overtime 5-4 to Concordia Wisconsin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The score was 2-0 Concordia after 20 minutes of play.
- Sam Weiss got the Spartans on the board with a goal at 2:43 in the second period. He was assisted by Matthew Chamberlain.
- Weiss was able to get a shot on net during a 4 on 4 which beat the goalie to make the score 2 to 1 Concordia.
- Dan Zielecki would tie the game 2 to 2 with a power play goal at 9:20 in the second period. Sam Weiss recorded the assist.
- The Spartans went into the locker room for the second intermission with a 2-2 tie.   
 - Josh Delezenne would score 2 goals for the Spartans in the third period to give the Spartans a 4-2 lead with 12 minutes to go in the game. Both goals would be assisted by Luke Picek.
-  Aurora would then spend the rest of the game in the penalty box as the Spartans would be given 7 penalties in the last 10 minutes of the third period and in overtime.
-  Concordia would score 2 power-play goals in the last 10 minutes to force the game into overtime.
- Concordia would score another power-play goal at the 2:18 mark of overtime to win the game 5-4

Next action for the Spartan ACHA Division 2 hockey team comes on Saturday, February 29th when they visit Grand Rapids, Michigan to play in the ACHA Central regional tournament with a chance to make the National Championship tournament on the line. They will be playing the University of Iowa. Puck drop is set for 8:00 pm in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
