Box Score The Aurora University men's hockey team opened the 2019-2020 NCHA Harris Cup playoffs at Adrian College on Friday night. AU fell in a high scoring end to end contest 7-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3:46 into the game and on the power play, AU had a d-man lose his edge and lead to a breakaway for Adrian. Adrian led 1-0.
- Midway through the first the Spartans drew even.
- Adam Keyes scored the game tying tally with an assist from Lordanthony Grissom.
- Late in the first, Adrian scored a greasy goal on the power play. A board battle below the goal line made its way to the front of the net.
- After one period, AU trailed 2-1.
- The Spartans came out in the second period and dominated action, scoring three times in the first 5:59.
- Jacob Holmers got the tying goal on the power play and was followed by Adam Keyes second goal a few minutes later.
- 30 seconds after the Keyes go ahead tally and after the start of the power play draw, Connor Chilton scored on the power play for a 4-2 AU lead.
- Just over a minute later, Adrian pulled to within 4-3.
- A controversial game tying goal for Adrian came just before the second period horn sounded. A short handed 2v1 found the back of the AU net despite what appeared to be a puck off a skate with a kicking motion.
- After 40 minutes of play, AU and Adrian were tied 4-4.
- Adrian scored twice in a little less than two minute stretch early in the third to lead 6-4. The second goal was the Bulldogs third short handed goal of the game.
- With 1:44 left in the game, AU scored on the power play to get within one at 6-5. Riley Doyon scored on the power play tally.
- An empty net goal with 15 seconds left gave Adrian the 7-5 victory over the Spartans.
