The Aurora University ACHA Division 2 hockey team lost to Trine University 8 to 4 in the ACHA division 2 Central Region Championship game.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trine University would score the first goal of the game two minutes and 20 seconds into the first period to take a 1-0 lead.
- Seven minutes later Aurora would tie the game on a nice goal by Sam Weiss, which was assisted by Patrick Macdonald and Matthew Chamberlain.
- Aurora would score again this time on the power play on a goal by Ian Sweeney to give the Spartans a 2-1 lead. It was assisted by Patrick Macdonald and Chris Laporte.
- Trine would score on the power play right before the end of the 1^st period to tie the game 2-2.
 - Trine would score the only two goals of the second period to take a 4-2 lead after the 2^nd period.
- Trine would score early in the 3^rd to make the score 5-2.
-  Aurora would answer back two minutes later on a goal by Josh Delezenne to make the score 5-3 Trine. The assists would go to Luke Picek and Matthew Chamberlain.  
- Trine would score just twenty-seven seconds after the Aurora goal to take a 6-3 lead.
-  Just one minute after Trine's goal, Aurora would score again this time by Chris Laporte, the assists coming from Matt Fudala and Anders Lindgren.
- Aurora would get a power play chance right after the goal from Laporte to try and make the game a one goal contest but Aurora was unable to score on the power play.
- Trine would end up scoring two goals in the last five minutes of the 3^rd period to win the game 8-4.

This loss ends the Spartans season, it was another successful year for ACHA D2 Spartans as they made it back to regional tournament for the fourth year in a row and were one game away from making it back to their third national championship tournament. The ACHA Division 2 Spartans are looking forward to another successful season next year.
