AU men run at Brisman-Lundeen

The Aurora University Men's Cross Country team placed 17th out of 29 entered teams at The Brisman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College.

Scoring for the Spartans were Cris Valencia, Nick Valle, Steven Kalish, Jacob Hernandez, and Fernando Viveros. Valencia, Kalish, and Viveros all ran personal bests in 27:55.0, 28:20.2, and 28:38.5, respectively.

Francis Balquin ran a 47 second PR finishing in 30:42.7. Hugo Diego's time of 32:34.3 also earned him a lifetime PR.

Head Coach Alex Lowe said, "This was our first meet of this size in nearly two years, so it was great to finally have that experience of being at a giant invitational again. We had some men run really strong races up front, and I'm confident the pack will be deeper when we race again in two weeks with our full squad. The guys had a heap of PRs today, and they're not nearly done. We're continuing to work on the process of racing, and that breakthrough is just around the corner."

Next action for the Spartan men's cross-country team comes on Friday, October 15 when they travel to La Crosse, Wisconsin.
