The Aurora University women's basketball team opened up the 2021-2022 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule on Tuesday night in Thornton Gymnasium with a decisive 98-34 victory over the visiting Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Institute of Technology.

- The Spartans stormed out to a 12-0 lead 2:45 into the game, forcing an Illinois Tech timeout.
- A Savannah Johnson put back with 2:32 to play gave AU a 22-3 lead.
- AU led 24-6 after the first 10 minutes of action.
- The second quarter saw Spartan Julie Galauner make her first appearance of the season and a three-point play welcomed her to the scoring column.
- A pair of three's from Talia Bee around a Victoria Perry steal and score gave the Spartans a 24 lead at 37-13.
- The Spartans continued to score off their pressure defense and headed to halftime up 36 at 54-18.
- 15 Spartans saw action in the first-half with 11 collecting points.
- AU continued to hit in all cylinders in the third quarter, out scoring IIT 27-11 and leading 81-29.
- The fourth was much of the same with the Spartans largest lead (66 pts - 98-32) coming on a Katie Beebe put back.
- The Spartans would go on to win 98-34.
