Football game outlook - Lakeland University

The Aurora University football team make a trip north to Wisconsin on Saturday, November 6 when they take on the Muskies of Lakeland University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. in Plymouth, Wisconsin.  A win on Saturday would clinch the 2021 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship for the Spartans and a return trip to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

AU is led by a high powered offense that ranks eighth in total offense (504.9 yards per game), ninth in scoring offense (48.4 points per game), 10th in first down offense (202), 12th in team passing efficiency (171.05), 16th in kick return defense (13.81), 21st in passing yards per completion (15.21) and 24th in rushing offense (229.1 per game). 

Individually, the Spartans are led several individuals who rank among the top 25 in many categories.

Quarterback Gavin Zimbelman is second in passing touchdowns (32), second in points responsible for (212), third in points responsible for per game (26.5), ninth in passing efficiency (174.7), 17th in passing yards per completion (15.21), 22nd in yards per pass attempt (9.00), 22nd in passing yards (2,206) and 24th in passing yards per game (275.8).

Running back Tyran Bailey is ranked third in rush yards per carry (7.69), ninth in rushing touchdowns (12), 18th in total rushing yards (900), 22nd in rushing touchdowns (12) and 23rd in yards rushing per game (115.9)

Wide receiver Cameron Moore is first in yards per reception (24.37) and sixth in receiving touchdowns (11)

Defensively, defensive back Sean Reyna is ranked fourth nationally with his six interceptions and 1.8 pass deflections per game.

Specialist, punt returner James Mautino is 10th in punt returns with 16.4 yards per return.
