The Aurora University baseball team swept their doubleheader against Edgewood College on Saturday at Schmid Field.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS -
- Edgewood came out swinging on Malmberg, putting up two runs in the opening frame.
- AU would answer with seven in the bottom half on four hits. The big hit coming from Collin Meinert's double scoring two.
- In the 3rd Corey Vondra and Jake Ambuel would hit back-to-back home runs to put the Spartans up 10-2.
- In the 4th another pair of Spartans would go back-to-back when Jett Wedekind and Collin Meinert would both hit a solo homerun.
- In the 5th the crowd at Schmid Field would see another rocket off the bat of Ambuel when he hit his second homerun of the game.
- In the 6th Nico Bermio doubled and would later score on an Edgewood error to extend the lead 14-2.
- Nick Malmberg settled down and shut the Eagles down the rest of the game after his shaky 1st inning.
- In the top of the 7th the Eagles would score 4 on three hit by pitches and two hits.
- The Spartans would keep the Eagles from scoring anymore and win the game 14-6.

- The Eagles scored in the 1st again in game two going up 1-0 on three hits.
- AU would leave two on base as Edgewood was able to hold the Spartans scoreless in the 1st.
- In the 2nd AU would score 4 on singles from Corey Vondra and Dylan White, both 2RBIS.
- Carter Turnquist was able to throw up some zeroes, but ran into trouble in the 4th when the Eagles scored one more. 4-2 Spartans.
- The Spartans would add another in the 5th when Jett Wedekind would get in to one for a single to the left side to score Ambuel. 5-2 Spartans.
- Seth Gutknecht would come in in the 6th for Spartans to shut the Edgewood offense down.
- Alec Strupp came in in the 7th to get the nine out save for the Spartans, striking out six.
