The Aurora University women's hockey team tied the Bulldogs of Adrian College 3-3 on Saturday afternoon but fell in the first shootout in school history, 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans took a 1-0 lead 9:46 into the first period.
Olivia Matson scored with assists from
Lexie Martinez and
Stephanie Schmunk.
- With 8:55 left in the first, Adrian tied the contest with a power-play goal.
- The teams went to the first intermission tied 1-1.
- 4:06 into the second, AU grabbed the lead again when
Emma-Lee Martel scored an unassisted tally.
- For the second time in the game, Adrian scored a power play shortly after AU took the lead.
- With 5:19 to go in the second, AU struck on the power play to go ahead 3-2.

Marisa Trevino scored the ppg with assists from Matson and
Hannah Gwillim.
- AU would take the one goal lead to the second intermission.
- At the 9:00 mark of the third, Adrian scored to tie the game 3-3.
- That score would remain as the teams headed into overtime.
- AU had a power play and controlled the first half of the five minute session but it was all Adrian in the second-half though both goalies kept the game tied.
- Going to a shootout for the first time in school history, AU would fall 1-0 but tie the contest 3-3.
