The Aurora University men's track and field team competed at The Eagle Invitational hosted by Benedictine University. Competing against Division I, II, and III schools, the Spartan men placed seventh out of 13 teams with 32 points. Overall, the men earned a total of 23 personal records.
Cormac Dietz and
Francis Balquin both ran personal bests in the 800m and 1500m. Balquin won his heat of the 800 running 2:13.76. Junior
Fernando Viveros ran his lifetime best of 16:45.78 in the 5K.
Nick Valle PR'd in the 3K with a time of 9:34.93. Cris Valencia also ran a 3K PR of 9:50.53.
Kaiden Hall and
Eric Teverbaugh PR'd in the 400. Teverbaugh also jumped his lifetime best of 1.75m (5'8.75") in high jump. In the 100m
Edgar Dominguez,
Isaac Heard, and
Carlos Flores each ran a lifetime PR. Dominguez (5.96m) and Flores (4.20m) also had personal bests in the long jump.
Danyrine White placed 12
th in the 200 running his fastest time of 22.94.
In shot put
Christian Carpenter and
Dylan Whisenant placed in seventh and eighth, respectively. Carpenter also threw his lifetime best of 12.53m (41'1.50"). Whisenant threw his furthest in both the discus and hammer.
Next action for the Spartan men is Saturday, April 17 when they travel to Milwaukee, WI for the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College.
