The Aurora University men's track and field team competed at The Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI. AU placed third out of 14 teams with 77 points. The Spartan men had a total of 14 PRs and one top ten all time addition.
Freshman Cris Valencia made his 10K debut with a time of 34:29.37. This time places him tenth all-time in school history.
Fernando Viveros ran over a minute PR in the 10K finishing in 35:14.93.
Steven Kalish and
Francis Balquin both PR'd in the 5K running 17:00.01 and 17:26.11, respectively.
Jeremiah Cooley (third),
Miguel Gonzalez (fourth), and
Jacob Hernandez (fifth) all placed in the top five in the 1500. Gonzalez ran his lifetime best of 4:18.01.
Jacob Bohnert and
Alex Dills PR'd in the 800.
Christian Carpenter threw his lifetime best of 20.49m (67'3") in the hammer. In discus
Bryan Sackie-Mensah placed eighth with his best throw of 33.88m (111'2").
Carlos Flores also threw his lifetime best in discus and PR'd with a time of 1:04.20 in the 400.
Danyrine White had lifetime best performances in both the 100 and 200. In the 100 he placed seventh with a time of 11.56 and in the 200 he placed third running 22.74.
Eli Grundman ran his lifetime best of 24.75 in the 200. Jarell Mays ran his fastest time of 12.04 in the 100.
Next action for the Spartan men is Friday, April 23 when they compete at the Bluejay Invitational hosted by Elmhurst University.
