The Aurora University football offensive line got some national recognition today when D3football.com named the unit to the Team of the Week.
The offensive line of
Chris Toth,
Jackson Nazos,
Oscar Nava,
Jalen Cole and
Matt Kickel, helped pave the way to a 70-20 victory over Rockford University on Saturday, September 25 with 431 yards rushing on the day on 30 carries. The Spartans finished the day with a school record 800 yards of total offense with 369 yards passing and no sacks for the starting unit. The offensive line paved the way for two 100-yard rushers with
Tyran Bailey gaining 203 yards and four touchdowns while Jhequay Chretin gained 101 yards with a touchdown.
On the season, AU is 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference while averaging 212.3 yards per game rushing, 269.0 yards per game passing and scoring 45.0 points per game.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, October 2 when they travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
