AU women have strong showing at Grand Prix

The Aurora University women's track and field team had a strong showing at the Aurora Grand Prix.
 
In the 200-meter dash, three Spartans placed top three in their heat. Skyler Gibbs won her heat, running a lifetime best. Brittany Ingram placed second in her heat, and Gianna Davis placed third with a season best. Gibbs also PR'd in the 60-meter hurdles. Her time of 10.36 ranks her 11th in AU history.
 
Freshman Deyanneira Colon Maldonado placed third in the 3K with a time of 10:49.92. This time ranks her eighth in AU history.
 
Alayna Koehler won her heat of the 800 with a 15 second PR. Madison Etheridge also PR'd in the 800, running her fastest indoor time. Shaley Gonzalez and Katy Liesen both had lifetime bests in the mile.
 
The 4x400 meter relay team of Isabella Encinas, Alex Gonzalez, August Pautsch, and Koehler placed first in their heat.
 
Next action for the Spartan women's track and field team is Saturday, February 5 when they compete at the Windy City Rumble hosted by the University of Chicago.
