The Aurora University men's track and field team placed seventh at the North Central College Heenan Invite. The Spartans finished with a total of 18 personal bests, two top ten performances, and one school record.
Eli Grundman broke the pole vault school record by nearly six inches as he cleared 4.55m (14'11").
Jacob Bohnert place fifth in his 5K debut with a time of 15:30.07. This time ranks him second in school history.
Nick Valle and Steve Kalish had indoor PRs in the 5K. Valle won his heat in a time of 16:22.16.
Cris Valencia and
Maximo Garcia ran lifetime bests.

Jalen Cole placed fourth in weight throw with his best throw of 15.49m (50'10"). This throw moves him up to sixth in school history. Â
Robbie Peterson Jr. won long jump with a jump of 6.85m (22'5.74").
Malik Whitehead had PR'd in long jump.

In the 800,
Sam Brown, Bohnert, and Kalish ran indoor PRs while Valle ran a lifetime best.
Chase Pruett ran an indoor mile PR. Lucas Alverez PR'd in the 3K, running 10:12.74.    Â
John Conwell and
Carlos Flores had lifetime bests in the 60. Flores also PR'd in the 400.
Danyrine White placed fifth in the 200, running his fastest time of 23.14.

Next action for the Spartan men's track and field team is Friday, February 18 when they travel to Dubuque, Iowa for the Butler Classic.
