The Aurora University women's track and field team placed sixth at the Windy City Rumble. The Spartans finished with a total of eight personal bests and one top-ten in school history performance.
Deyanneira Colon Maldonado ran to a photo finish in the 5k, placing second with a time of 18:42.91. This time ranks her eighth in school history.
Madison Etheridge and
Emily Samp ran indoor PRs in the 800.
August Pautsch ran a 15 second lifetime best in the mile, finishing in 6:20.36.
Three Spartans PR'd in the 3K.
Abby Liesen finished with a time of 11:07.40, ranking her 11
th in AU history.
Katy Liesen and
Kelly Helton pushed each other throughout the 15-lap race to finish in 12:17.70 and 12:21.38, respectively.
Freshman
Alayna Koehler had had two lifetime best performances. She PR'd in both the 200 and 400.
The 4x400 relay of
Gianna Davis, Ari Mack,
Hannah Cure, and
Skylar Gibbs placed first in their heat.
Next action for the Spartan women's track and field team is Saturday, February 12 when they compete at the Pat Heenan Invitational hosted by North Central College.
