Just one one-third of the way through the 2022 regular season, the Aurora University baseball team is off to a strong start and with that start comes national attention.

The Spartans are ranked in both the Collegiate Baseball and D3baseball.com Top 25 polls, 15th in Collegiate Baseball and 17th in the latest D3baseball.com polls with their 10-3 record.

AU is 4-1 on the 2022 season against teams that are in or receiving votes in the current polls including a recent sweep of 2021 CCIW champion Millikin University (AU won 11-0 and 6-4) and 2021 American Rivers Conference champion Luther College (AU won 9-8, 7-3 and 22-2).

Next action for the Spartan baseball team comes on Saturday, April 2 when they host Illinois Institute of Technology. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Jim Schmid Field in Montgomery, Illinois.
