The Aurora University baseball team swept the Muskies of Lakeland University on Monday, defeating the hosts 11-1 in 8 innings and then coming from behind to win game two 7-6.

Game One
- After a scoreless first two innings, AU got singles from Nick Balassano, Corey Vondra and Jett Wedekind to load the bases. Baldassano scored on a double-play ball for the lone run of the inning.
- AU added a run in the fourth with Baldassano driving in Jack Seefeldt.
- Lakeland cut the AU lead in half with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.
- A pair of Lakeland errors and a Jacob Ambuel single led to two Spartan runs in the sixth. AU led 4-1.
- Meanwhile, AU starting pitcher Bryce Miller did not allow a base runner past second besides the solo home run and kept the AU lead a comfortable one.
- Doubles to start the seventh from Dylan White and Justin Sartori plated a run. A walk, two Muskie errors and just one more AU hit led to three more Spartan runs and AU led 8-1.
- Vondra led off the eighth with a single, Jett Wedekind walked and after a pitching change, White doubled in Vondra. Sartori then singled in Wedekind and White and AU led 11-1 which brought the mercy rule into play.
- Miller struck out two and got a foul pop up in the bottom of the eighth to seal the 11-1 Spartan win.

Game Two 
- The Spartans wasted no time getting on the board in game two, scoring three times in the top of the first fueled by four singles. 
- Lakeland plated a run in the third thanks to a pair of AU fielding errors.
- Two singles and a two-out double for Lakeland in the fourth tied the game.
- AU starter Skyler Yamamoto was lifted for Sam Harvey in the fifth. Harvey allowed a hit, balked twice and was relieved by Seth Gutknecht. The Muskie who reached against Harvey scored in the inning and AU trailed 4-3.
- The game remained 4-3 Lakeland until the seventh when the home team added two more runs courtesy of a home run.
- In the top of the eighth, Dylan White led off with a walk and Justin Sartori singled and chased the second Lakeland pitcher of the game. Collin Meinert singled to score White and Nico Bermeo hit a sac fly to score Sartori and AU trailed by one at 6-5. With two-outs, Meinert stole second and right after Sean Rivera singled to score Meinert with the tying run.
- In the ninth, Corey Vondra led off with a single and moved to third on a throwing error on a pick off throw from the pitcher. After two outs, Sartori laced a single to score Vondra with the go ahead run.
- Anthony Touhy held down the Muskies in his second inning of work for the 7-6 win.
