The Aurora University men's lacrosse team hosted the rival Eagles of Benedictine University on a wet Wednesday evening at Spartan Athletic Park. AU needed double-overtime but a goal from
Zach Bernstein with 2:30 left in the second overtime period lifted the Spartans past the Eagles 14-13. The overtime goal is the second of the season for Bernstein.

- Both teams scored a pair of goals in the first quarter with AU falling behind 1-0 before going ahead 2-1.

Ben Strub and Brody Macdonald scored unassisted goals in the first quarter.

Reilan Pura tallied a man-up goal with an assist from Macdonald late in the second.

Jimmy Gorecki scored with Macdonald assisting on the three goals he did not score himself.
- The AU scoring run continued into the fourth with
Andy Trenary scoring a man-up goal and Byun scoring his second of the day.
- With 13:36 left in the fourth, AU led 10-8.
- Over the next six minutes, Benedictine scored three times to regain the lead 11-10 with 7:57 to play in regulation.
- Byun tied the contest with his third of the night and less than a minute later at 5:48, Strub scored his second of the night, a man-up goal to put AU ahead 12-11.
- The Spartans would not trail again in the game.Â
- With the game tied 12-12, Bernstein scored his second of the night to put AU ahead 13-12 with 3:09 left in the fourth.
- BU would tie the game at 2:33 of the fourth and eventually send the game to overtime after the AU defense made a huge stop with a save from
Phillip Gianelle in the final seconds of the game.
- Neither team scored in the first four minute overtime session, sending the contest to a second overtime.
- In the second overtime, BU won the faceoff and the fogo appeared to have won the game but a timeout called by the BU Head Coach stopped play and whipped the goal off.
- Coming out of the timeout, Gianelle made a save on a shot and AU gained possession.
- After a successful clear, Brody Macdonald missed wide on a shot.
