Spartans drop high scoring road contest

The Aurora University men's basketball team hit the road Saturday to Lakeland University and fell to the Muskies in a high scoring contest 103-95.

How it happened
- In the first 2:30 of the game, the Spartans and Muskies each traded baskets and the lead on multiple occasions.
- After Lakeland built a nine point lead (18-9), the Spartans answered with a 14-5 run to tie the game up 23-23 with 9:44 to go on a Nolan Boffman layup.
- Multiple baskets from Joevonn McCottry and Boffman had AU ahead 31-30 with 7:45 to play in the first-half.
- The teams went to halftime with AU trailing by five at 50-45.
- The Spartans opened the second half with four quick points from Boffman and a layup from JT Daniels to take a 51-50 lead.
- Lakeland got hot from three-point range to take the lead back from AU.
- In the final minute a layup from Justin Wilson brought the AU deficit to six but Lakeland made free throws down the stretch to hold off the Spartans.
- AU fell 103-95 to Lakeland.
