The Aurora University men's hockey team dropped the 2023-2024 opening contest at Concordia College Minnesota on Friday night, falling to the Cobbers 4-1.

- Concordia scored the game's first goal 6:50 into the first period.
- AU answered back about seven minutes later off a power play, as Jacob Brockman found the back of the Concordia net with an assist from Jakson Kirk and Derrick Budz. 
- The Brockman goal came on the power play.
- With over three minutes left in the first period, the Cobbers scored to make it 2-1 heading into the first intermission.
- Halfway through the second period, Concordia scored a goal to go ahead 3-1.
- AU and Concordia went to the second intermission with the Spartans trailing 3-1.
