- The Spartans and Eagles traded leads in the first 7:30 of the contest with AU leading 13-12 after a Julian Gatewood bucket.
- AU got outscored 37-18 the remainder of the first-half and trailed 50-30 going to half.
- The halftime adjustment from AU's Steve Christiansen showed up immediately as the Spartans roared back into the contest.
- With 10:55 to go, AU was down just four (65-61) after a three from Gatewood.
- BU would go on an 8-0 over the next 2:30 to push the deficit back to double digits.
- AU again continued to battle and when Nolan Boffman made a layup with 14 seconds to play, AU was again within four (85-81).
