AU men take on strong Keck field

The Aurora University men's track and field team competed at the Keck DIII Select meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University.
Eli Grundman placed third in Pole Vault, clearing a height of 4.55 meters to score for the team. Grundman is currently ranked first in this event in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference.
Freshmen Joshua Beechler and Mekhii Morris-Heron both ran competitive 800 meter races. Beechler, with his season debut in the event, ran a time of 2:01.25. Morris-Heron won his heat in a time of 2:01.27.
Steven Tinsley placed second in the Shot Put, with a season best throw of 14.59m. This mark is currently ranked first in the conference. Freshman Phoenix Cooper had a 77 centimeter PR in the weight throw with a mark of 12.82m, as well as a 44 centimeter PR in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.75m.

Up next, the Spartans will be competing at the Pat Heenan Invitational hosted by North Central College. The meet will take place on Saturday, February 11th.
