The Aurora University Spartan baseball team wrapped up the 2023 spring trip on a high note, defeating Buena Vista University 7-4 in sunny Florida.

- AU fell behind in the second when BV scored once.
- Buena Vista threatened with two outs in the third but AU starter Justin Zimmerman got a big strikeout to end the inning.
- Two out bingo payed off for the Spartans in the bottom of the third. Singles from Nico Bermeo and Jacob Ambuel in front of a long home run from Justin Sartori put AU ahead 3-1.
- The lead remained two until the fifth when an Ambuel double scored Bermeo and Dominick Curcio and the Spartans led 5-1.
- Zimmerman and the Spartans maintained the 5-1 lead into the eighth when the AU bullpen came on for the starter.
- Buena Vista scored a pair of runs after two quick outs to cut the AU lead to 5-3.
- The Spartans and Derek Angelo answered immediately as Angelo led off the bottom of the eighth with a solo home run.
- Later in the inning, Bermeo hit a sac fly to score Collin Meinert and AU led 7-3.
- BV added a run in the ninth but the Spartans prevailed 7-4.
