The Aurora University baseball team continued their winning ways with an 8-1 victory over the University of Mount Union on Monday. Starting pitching from Justin Zimmerman and 11 more hits for the offense led the way for the Spartans.

-After leaving base runners on in each of the first two innings, the Spartans struck in the third thanks to a Justin Sartori double and he scored when Jett Wedekind reached on an error by the Mount Union shortstop.
- In the fifth, three straight singles to start the inning from Dominick Curcio, Nico Bermeo and Jacob Ambuel plated a run with Ambuel driving in Curcio.
- Mount Union plated an unearned run in the sixth to cut the AU lead to 2-1.
- AU blew the game open in the bottom of the sixth thanks to three defensive errors from Mount Union.
- A one out double from Collin Meinert and a run scoring double from Bermeo were the offensive damage from the AU bats in the four run sixth.
- AU starter Justin Zimmerman tossed seven strong innings, striking out 10 before giving way to Carlos Garcia who finished the final two innings.
- A pair of insurance runs were manufactured in the eighth by the Spartans with Derek Angelo leading off the inning with a walk. One out later he scored on a single off the bat of Nico Bermeo. Bermeo would then come around to score on a single from Ambuel after a wild pitch and passed ball moved him to third.
- Heading to the ninth, AU led 8-1 which would be the final score.
