Spartans win big in final non-conference contest

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team headed to the road for their final non-conference contest of the season at Kalamazoo College. The Spartans returned home with a dominate 16-3 victory before beginning conference play.

How it happened
- The Hornets got on the board first, scoring 2:08 into the game.
- Not long after, the Spartans responded when Chris Bucci found the back of the net and tied the game 1-1. 
- Kalamazoo retook the lead with 2:13 left in the quarter. 
- The second quarter saw five Spartan goals. Ben Strub got the offense going 3:17 into the quarter. Strub was quickly followed by a goal from Brody MacDonald
- In the final minutes of the half, Jimmy Gorecki, Brody MacDonald, and Carson Leader all recorded tallies to give AU a 6-2 lead.
- AU came out firing in the third with six goals coming from Ben Strub, Brody MacDonald (2), Jimmy Gorecki (2), and Carson Leader. Both MacDonald and Gorecki earned the hat trick.
- Late in the third, Kalamazoo scored one to break their long scoreless drought.
- Heading into the fourth, the Spartans led 12-3.
- In the fourth, AU added four goals coming from Zach BernsteinOwen Spencer, and Jimmy Gorecki (2) his fifth of the day. 
- The Spartans were victorious 16-3.
