The Aurora University Spartan baseball team hosted a non-conference night game with Millikin University on Wednesday evening at Jim Schmid Field. The Spartans were victorious, defeating the Big Blue 5-2.

- Millikin got the games scoring started in the second and led 1-0.
- AU as has been their thing all year, answered immediately in the bottom of the inning. 
- Four hits and a Big Blue error led to three AU runs with Collin Meinert doubling in Josh Reinhardt and Dominick Curcio and Nico Bermeo having run scoring singles.
- Three runs was all the AU pitchers would need as Jacob Welbes, Brian Henehan, Sam Harvey and Carlos Garcia combined for a three-hit performance.
- The AU bullpen retired 17 of the 18 batters they faced and did not allow a run over the 5-1/3 innings of work.
- AU threatened in the third with a bases loaded no out situation but would not score.
- Millikin scored one run in the fourth off Jacob Welbes before he turned the game over the the Spartan relievers.
- With the bullpen locking up Millikin, the AU bats added a couple insurance tallies in the sixth.
- A one-out walk to Brenden Naylor was followed by base hits from Collin Meinert and Sean Rivera (bunt hit) to load the bases.
- A wild pitch and sac fly from Nico Bermeo scored two Spartans and gave the home team a 5-2 advantage after six innings.
- In the seventh AU again threatened with two on and one out but would not scratch across a run.
- Harvey struck out the last two Millikin hitters in the eighth and Carlos Garcia earned the save striking out two in the ninth.
- AU was victorious 5-2.
