Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University softball team traveled to De Pere, Wisconsin for a conference matchup against the Green Knights of St.Norbert College. The Spartans and Green Knights played two close games with AU falling by one (2-1) in the first and winning game two 6-4.

Game One 
- The Spartans found themselves down one late in the third off two St.Norbert hits.
- With two outs and a runner on second in the fourth, Emma Lytton singled to tie the game with Isabel Morales scoring.
- The fifth saw the Spartans have bases loaded with one out but could not manage to score in the frame.
- SNC took advantage of two Spartan errors in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead 
- AU threatened in the top of the seventh with bases loaded but could not push a run across. 
- Spartan pitcher Madelyn Buske only allowed three hits and struck out two in the 2-1 loss.

Game Two 
- The Spartans started fast in game two scoring three runs in the second inning. With one out, Faith Biggs singled to score pitch runner Isabel Morales. Delilah Aguirre who reached on a double, scored on wild pitch and Faith Biggs came around to score on an RBI from pitch hitter Christina Richards. 
- St. Norbert responded with four runs in the third off five hits.
- The Green Knights threatened in the fifth with two outs and runners on first and second, but Madeyln Buske relieved Rylee Campbell and got the Spartans out of the inning with fly out. 
- With one out in the seventh, Jemma Fiehweg got the Spartan rally started with a single. After Fiehweg stole second, Tyler Chambers singled and AU had runners on first and third. 
- The Spartans would bring one across when Fiehweg scored on a sac fly from Lexi Rayborn. Kionna King followed with an RBI double to score Chambers and would later score on a single from Thiel.
- AU led 6-4 heading into the bottom half of the frame.
- Three quick outs from Madelyn Buske, including a strike out and two ground balls secured the Spartans 6-4 victory.
