Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University softball team returned to the road and traveled to Plymouth, Wisconsin for a NACC doubleheader against Lakeland University. The Spartan swept the Muskies, winning game one 3-0 (8 inn.) and 8-1 in game two.

Game One 
- The Spartans and Muskies played through seven scoreless innings with both pitchers keeping the opposing offenses off balance.
- Spartan Madelyn Buske was dealing only allowing two hits in seven innings. 
- AU threatened in both the second and fourth, but could not manage to score, leaving two baserunners on in the frames.
- In the eighth, the Spartans came alive. Faith Biggs led of with a walk and Jordan Seyfried followed with a single to left. With runners on first and second and one out, an infield fly from Tyler Chambers manufactured a run. Biggs advanced to third on the play and would score on a Muskie throwing error.
- An RBI single from Lexi Rayborn scored pitch runner Madison Lung and the Spartans led 2-0 with two outs.
- AU freshman Kionna King kept the inning alive with a double down the left field line to score Rayborn. AU led 3-0 heading to the bottom of the frame. 
- The Spartans got two quick outs, but the Muskie's rallied with two back to back singles. Madelyn Buske got out of the inning with a ground out and AU was victorious 3-0.

Game Two 
- The Spartans got on the board in the third with two runs coming across. Jordan Seyfried started the inning with a single to left field and Jemma Fiehweg followed with a single down the left field line. 
- Kionna King hit a two run single up the middle to score Fiehweg and pitch runner Reese Pozen. 
- The Spartans added three in the fourth. Emma Lytton led off the inning with a walk and would score on a Muskie error that allowed Faith Biggs to reach. Delilah Aguirre reached on another Muskie error that brought Biggs around to score.  Fiehweg stepped to the plate and laid down a squeeze bunt to score Aguirre. 
- In the bottom half of the frame, the Muskie's would score their only run of the game.
- AU responded adding one in the fifth when Alex Thiel singled to score Kionna King. 
- The sixth saw two more Spartan runs. After Fiehweg reached on a hit by pitch, Lexi Rayborn drove her in on a double to left field. Kionna King was intentionally walked to have runners on second and first with one out. Alex Thiel followed with a double to right center to score pitch runner Cassandra Uhl. 
- The Spartans led 8-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth. 
- Rylee Campbell kept the Muskies from pushing runs across and the Spartans won 8-1.
