Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University Spartan softball team returned to Bedrosian Stadium for day two of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Spartans played two contest, surviving the first elimination game against Marian University 4-1, but saw their season come to an end against the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering after falling 4-0.

Game One vs Marian University
- The Spartans got on the board first, scoring one run in the bottom of the second. With one out, Kionna King doubled down the left field line to score Faith Biggs who reached on a single. 
- After two scoreless innings, the Sabres tied the game in the top of the fifth. 
- Marian threatened to take the lead in the sixth, but Spartan pitcher Rylee Campbell was able to get out of the inning with a ground out. 
- AU carried the momentum into the bottom of the frame, scoring three runs. To start the inning, Jemma Fiehweg reached via hit by pitch and advanced to second on a Chambers ground out. Lexi Rayborn followed with a single through the left side. With one out and runners on first and third, Delilah Aguirre laid a sac bunt down to score Fiehweg. 
- A Sabres error allowed Biggs to reach and pitch runner Emma Bachio to score. With two outs, King singled to drive in Biggs and the Spartans led 4-1 heading into the top of the seventh.
- A lead off single from the Sabres was all Campbell allowed in the final frame. Campbell settled in and got three back to back outs, striking out the final batter.
- AU survived the first elimination game 4-1.

Game Two vs Milwaukee School of Engineering 
- With two outs and bases loaded, the Spartans got out of the jam allowing only one run to come across.
- The Spartans had a runner in scoring position in the top of the second, but were unable to bring the tying run in.
- MSOE added one in the third to lead 2-0.
- In the fifth, a two run homer gave the Raiders a 4-0.
- The Spartan bats fell silent with Kionna King recording the only hit of the game.
- AU fell by a final score of 4-0.
