Aurora University Athletics

The Aurora University softball team celebrated the senior class of 2023 between a doubleheader on Friday evening, one in which the Spartans would drop, falling 4-0 and 8-2.

Record: Aurora University (23-15 overall and 15-7 in the NACC)
Location: Bedrosian Stadium -Montgomery, Illinois. 


Game One 
- AU fell behind 2-0 in the first inning.
- With two outs in the bottom of the first, Lexi Rayborn lasered a double off the left field wall but was left stranded.
- The AU deficit grew to 3-0 in the third inning.
- The Spartans had base runners in each of the first five innings but were unable to string together hits.
- The Spartans would fall 4-0.

Game Two 
- AU scored first in game two with Jemma Fiehweg being hit by pitch, moving to second on a sac bunt and scoring on a Lexi Rayborn single.
- Spartan starter Rylee Campbell was perfect through 3-1/3 innings before a seeing eye single broke up her no hit bid. Two batters later a home run put AU down 2-1.
- CUW added two runs in the fifth and four in the sixth to take an 8-1 lead.
- Fiehweg and Rayborn both singled in the sixth with Fiehweg scoring the second AU run of the game.
- AU would fall by a final of 8-2.
